🌴Chapter 1🌴
“Ugh,” Mia groaned. (She was trimming bushes so the car could get through to the research center.) I was fighting against a sloth to get my water bottle back. We just got to the jungle and our visit so far has been absolutely fine. (Olivia argues with me against this fact.) Maybe before I get any further I should introduce ourselves before we get any farther into this story.
I am Stephanie and I love sports, my friend Mia loves animals, and lastly Olivia who is SO techy. We are in the jungle because our parents work for an animal rescue clinic and we were invited along.
Anyway to get back to the story we were FINALLY back in the jeep and driving to the research center (the research center is where we are staying on our trip to the jungle.) Mia as you could imagine was pestering me about how the jeep is polluting the environment while Olivia is driving silently down the rough road. Mia was glowering in the back seat at the mention of vehicles that pollute the environment, furious just at the thought. “Look, it's a lion!” I suddenly exclaimed.
“Haha, good one. Lions are native to Africa, not South America,” replied Mia. Ok, I have to admit Mia got me good. I had no idea how to reply. Olivia saved me by saying,
“We have arrived at the research center.”
When we got out of the car we looked at our bunk assignments. Mia and I were together (hopefully we wouldn’t have any more umm… fights) Olivia was with another girl named Andrea (I personally do not think that Andrea was not pleased to be in the jungle because she always glared and didn't want to go on hikes.) But, by the end of the day we had made friends with Andrea. The next day, our ranger took us on a rock climbing trip. On Wednesday, I encouraged everyone to go on a hiking trip through the jungle. If only I knew we would be in for a big surprise.

🛕Chapter 2🛕
Well... today we went on a ‘Disaster trip’ because Stephanie made us go on a hiking trip but we got lost in an ancient temple! Before I go on any further, I will introduce myself. I am Mia and I LOVE animals. On the hike we, or should I say I, was pointing out animals and translating them to their scientific name to intrigue Olivia, Stephanie, and Andrea. The next thing I knew Olivia was shouting, Andrea was looking for wifi, and Stephanie started climbing trees.
“What’s going on, guys?” I asked.
“Haven't you been listening?” Andrea asked, bewildered. I was stumped on how to answer that question so I just shook my head.
“Well, we just got lost, the compass broke, and we don't have any wifi.” Stephanie replied.
“Okay.” I asked questionaly. (They all rolled their eyes at me for that.)
“Wow,” Stephanie gasped.
“What?” I asked blankly.
“There’s something behind this waterfall!” Stephanie replied, still gaping at the hole behind the waterfall. “What’s back there?” I asked.
“Some sort of temple..” Olivia replied.
“WHAT??????!!!!!!” Stephanie, Andrea, and I shouted.

“What’s going on, guys?” I asked.

🕳Chapter 3🕳
How on earth can there be a temple there? I thought. Oh! by the way, I am Andrea and I love music and hate being without Wifi.
“Let’s go back there and check it out!” Stephanie encouraged me.
“I’m not so sure..” I replied nervously. “Besides, who will help us because we are already lost?”
“I don't know.” Stephanie replied. “But I think that is the way back to camp.”
“Through the temple??” Mia asked questionaly. I thought about that fact for a second.
“Ok,” I said slowly. “Let’s go inside the temple.”
“Ok, I agree too!” Mia said.
“Lets go'' Olivia replied.
“WOOHOO!” Stephanie shouted. We went inside the temple but as we were about to run into a dead end, the walls of the temple started shaking around us, and the floor caved in.
“AVALANCHE!!!” I screamed. The floor had fallen beneath us and I was floating in midair. “Great” I thought sarcastically. Before I knew it, I was falling down into the deep trench. I closed my eyes to prepare for an impact but to my surprise, it never came. I landed on my feet in some sort of maze underneath the temple.
“Andrea!” Stephanie shouted.“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” I shouted back. “There is some sort of maze down here.”
“We are coming down,” Stephanie shouted. Before I knew it all of my friends had jumped down and were trying to find the way out of the maze.
Suddenly, a very strange and mysterious voice called out, “If you want to escape the maze of doom you need to find a jewel, a jaguar jewel.” A hologram appeared before us and a glowing picture of a giant, green emerald sparkled before our eyes, it seemed like we were in a dream, but only for a second, because then Stephanie started shouting orders.
“Andrea, left tunnel, Mia, right tunnel, Olivia, upward tunnel, and finally I will go to the lower tunnel, shout if you get hurt or find the emerald.”

💎Chapter 4💎
I’m Olivia and I love tech stuff. I was taking the upward tunnel when suddenly I remembered I was carrying a metal detector that had different settings on what to detect. I changed the settings to any gemstone and the beeping began, I walked slowly down the path prepared for the beeping to get louder and louder, as I walked the beeping stayed the same until my tunnel reached a dead end, as I was scanning the area for any gemstones I was attracted to that dead end because there was a beam of light coming out of a crack in the wall of the temple. “Guys!!” I yelled. “I found something!” I had no idea that those four words would attract them like washers to a strong magnet.
“Did you find something?” Andrea asked, out of breath.
“Yeah.” I replied “there is a crack in this dead end of the tunnel. Stephanie started inspecting the hole but her hand hit something sharp, there was a grinding noise and then the light seemed to grow bigger and bigger until the crack in the cave turned into a doorway. “Wow!!!”, Mia gasped, “ That is the biggest emerald I have ever seen!!!” “That IS enormous”, Stephanie agreed. “Should we take it?”, Andrea asked. “Yes, I think we should”, I agreed.
The second we laid a finger on the gem, the mysterious voice appeared again. “Now that you have found the emerald, a staircase will appear once you face your hardest challenges.”, The mysterious voice said. In a flash of color a figure in a cape appeared!

⚔Chapter 5⚔
It seemed as if the figure had cast all of our Challenges onto the cobblestone floor before us. There were at least 500 tennis balls coming at us from all angles. I knew just what to do, I pulled a tennis racquet out of my back pack and started to hit all the tennis balls back into the places that they started to come out of. The tennis balls jammed up the dispensers so no more tennis balls were coming out of the area. I repeated the same process until all of the tennis balls were gone and the dispensers had shut down. As the group caught their breath from dodging tennis balls, they turned around looking for an exit. But they quickly realized that a pair of cobras had appeared in their path! Mia told the rest of the group that they should step behind her and then took a snake hook out of her backpack as well as a small bag. Mia carefully wrapped the cobras around the snake hook and then put the snake hook in the bag. As soon as the cobras were out of the way music started coming out of hidden speakers at full volume. When the group had heard the song once it repeated over and over again. Andrea realized if she composed an ending to the song the music that was driving them crazy. When the music had quieted down to a soft hum two robots with evil looking eyes dropped down from a robotic arm. The robots started rolling around and bumping into things. Olivia asked the group to distract the robots and when she had the chance, Olivia grabbed one of the robots and reprogrammed it to help them instead of the strange figure. Olivia repeated the same process for the other robot. When all 0f the challenges had been solved we “talked” to the strange figure before us. What we mean by “talked” is that the strange figure talked at us. “Now that you have faced your worst nightmares you have wifi, a compass, and a glowing holographic arrow pointing the way back to the reserve. When we got back we had found that 2 hours in the temple is just 20 minutes in real time. We figured that out because when we got back our parents asked, “Back So Soon?” And we thought they would be worried!!
